The Science
HOW LUCENT IPL
WORKS
IPL technology delivers photo-rejuvenation energy at different wavelengths to address numerous aesthetic and dermatology needs. The depth of penetration varies according to wavelength — the longer the wavelength, the greater the penetration depth.
Broad-spectrum light is emitted through a precision filter matched to the target tissue and indication.
Target chromophores — melanin, oxyhemoglobin, or P. acnes bacteria — selectively absorb the light energy.
Absorbed light converts to heat, destroying the target tissue while leaving surrounding skin unaffected.
